2.3 Certificate Data

We store only minimal certificate information: certificateId, studentName, courseName, and dateIssued. No additional personal data is embedded in certificates.

  • Usage patterns and analytics (via Vercel Analytics)
  • Cookies and session tokens

3. Firebase & Infrastructure

Our platform uses Google Firebase for authentication, database storage (Firestore), and cloud functions. Firebase is a Google Cloud service that complies with industry-standard security practices.

  • Firebase Authentication: Handles user login securely using email/password and OAuth providers.
  • Cloud Firestore: Stores user profiles, course data, and academic records with encryption at rest.
  • Firebase Security Rules: Enforce strict access control so users can only access their own data.

All data transmitted between your device and our servers is encrypted using TLS (Transport Layer Security).

4. Google AdSense & Cookies

We use Google AdSense to display advertisements on certain pages. Google AdSense may use cookies and web beacons to serve ads based on your prior visits to our website or other websites.

We take student data protection seriously. Student personal information (name, email, Student ID) is accessible only to authorised institute administrators and the student themselves.

  • Student data is stored in isolated, access-controlled Firestore collections
  • Teachers can only access data for students enrolled in their courses
  • All API endpoints enforce role-based access control
  • Sensitive fields are never exposed in client-side code or public APIs

8. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this policy:

  • Active accounts: Data is retained throughout your enrollment and active usage of the platform.
  • Post-enrollment: Student and course data is retained for 2 years after the end of enrollment, unless deletion is requested earlier.
  • Certificate data: Minimal certificate records (certificateId, studentName, courseName, dateIssued) are retained indefinitely for verification purposes.
  • Account deletion: Upon request, personal data is deleted within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

You have the following rights regarding your personal data:

  • Right to Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
